2015 is a critical year for standard revision of ISO 9001. This revision will greatly impact the quality management system of SMEs due to different sequences on clauses and revised terms, such as business context, needs and expectations of interested parties, risk and opportunity management, leadership and management commitment. Additionally, the revision strengthens emphasis on quality objectives, performance evaluation and control of change. Enabling SMEs to have sufficient time to adjust their management systems which comply with the 2015 requirements, ISO Committee on Conformity Assessment (ISO / CASCO) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) have already agreed on a 3-year transition period after the publication of the new version. During this period, 2008 edition of the certificate remains valid. ISO 9001:2015 FDIS has been published on 09 Jul 2015 while the official one will be issued on 15th September 2015.
